Where it all began…
During my childhood, I have always been creative and have a huge passion for art. Throughout my educational years I experimented with my passion by studying Fine Art and Graphic Communication at college, and then finishing my education at University of the Arts in Norwich studying Graphic Communication, proudly leaving with a degree.
Whilst my studies were happening, my true hobby and break from education was makeup. I was age 16 when I first started getting creative with my makeup, trying out different products and creating bold and unique looks. I done this all for fun and a break from reality, and I then ended up with so many makeup looks on my phone, I decided to create an instagram page to share my passion, work and to connect with other creatives.
My education
In 2018, I trained with the London School of Makeup on Oxford Street, completing a 2-Day IMA Foundation Makeup Course. Whilst I was building my makeup and business portfolio for my qualification, I was also starting up my beauty business. In the same year I trained with Tatti Lashes to be qualified in lash extensions. Later on down the line finished my beauty training with Lush Lash.
In 2019, I officially became a qualified makeup artist, and over the next few years I poured my heart and soul into building my dream makeup career, whilst working in my beauty business, offering lash extensions, lash lift and brow services in my home salon. I am really proud to have such an amazing, loyal and lovely client base of 7 years.
Since I have become a qualified makeup artist with the LSM, my education and drive to be the best I can be for my brides and clients has not stopped there. I am always working hard on keeping up with the latest products, techniques and trends in the industry. In 2025 I was Endorsed by Kristina Gasperas, a 6-week course to update, perfect and create a well-rounded portfolio. I have also brushed up my skills with other well-known makeup artist’s online teaching and in-person one-to-ones. I love learning and perfecting my craft, so I will always be investing my time and business to keep learning.
My experience
Being in the beauty industry and in a client facing job for 7 years has allowed me to meet so many different people and to create an exceptional customer experience. Building not only a makeup business but also a beauty business at the same time as studying at university has challenged me and has made me extremely career driven and dedicated.
During my time at university, I used this time to be as creative as possible and to try and experience as much as possible. One of these areas was content creation, I would create creative makeup looks on myself and make different videos such as, tutorials, cool transitions and images to share and showcase on Instagram and TikTok. My Instagram and TikTok was growing and I started to get notice by small beauty brands to create content with their products.
Another area was in photoshoots: I went to an arts university, meaning my house was full of creative people! My housemate at the time, who was a studying photography, collaborated with me on a few colourful/creative photoshoots, and she gave me full creative freedom with makeup, which really took me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to explore a whole new area of the makeup industry.
I am proud I am now in a position where I can focus my time and energy in an area that was my first ever passion and dream, makeup. I got to a point in my business where I could close my beauty diary and have a close, reliable and loyal client base that can allow me to focus on elevating my makeup career.
The beginning of Bridal
When I first picked up my makeup brushes and started my career, I had never thought of working in the wedding industry. I have been really fortunate to have great role models and friends in the industry for support and in 2021, one of my hair stylist friends asked if I was free for a micro-wedding during the pandemic. This was huge and a crazy time to dip my toe in the wedding industry, but I was here for it!
Being a part of someone’s wedding day, being able to prepare and get my bride ready for one of the most important days of her life, left me with a very special feeling…
At this time I was still studying at university, meaning I couldn’t completely commit myself to weddings so I carried on what I was doing and let the opportunities find me. I was really lucky to have other makeup artists believe in me and my work so I spent a couple of years assisting other makeup artists and being referred by hair stylists and working on a couple of weddings with them. Each year my bridal enquiries would increase, forward to present time, I now have a fully booked diary every year.
As you can see, I completely fell in love with bridal and working in the wedding industry. I have been in the industry for 5 years now and I still get the same feeling I did back in 2021. Working with brides is such a special job and being there to not only make them feel beautiful and confident, but being their support brings me so much job and purpose. The industry itself is magical and so supportive, I love working with so many amazing creative people who all have the same goal.
